The Tanzania Surgical Association, in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and supported by the Ministry of Health, is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive Laparoscopic Surgery Training Program.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to enhance minimally invasive surgical capabilities across Tanzania's healthcare facilities. The program includes:
- Three-month intensive training modules
- Simulation-based learning with state-of-the-art equipment
- Mentorship from experienced laparoscopic surgeons
- Practical sessions at partner hospitals
- Certification upon successful completion
The first cohort of 20 surgeons will begin training in April 2026. Applications are now open for surgeons with at least 3 years of post-residency experience.
This program represents a significant step forward in our mission to bring world-class surgical care to all Tanzanians.
